World's Busiest Airports by Passenger Traffic (Part 1)

If you hate traveling through overcrowded airports and hate having to deal with seemingly endless queues, then you might want to avoid these airports.

Airport Council International has released a list of the world's busiest airports by passenger traffic, based on a study conducted from January-June 2011. "By passenger traffic" refers to the total number of passengers who have arrived in, or departed from, or transits through an airport on a given day.

For several years now, Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport has been topping the list. Other US airports also dominate the top ten, but several Asian airports have reported significant growth in passenger numbers. Among them are Jakarta's Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (14.6% growth from January-September 2011), Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport (16.2% growth) and Singapore Changi Airport (11.3% growth).
