You Can Never Go Wrong with the Classics: Classic Savory

Christmas is fast and approaching, and that can only mean one thing--chaos.

As much as everyone loves the holidays, the stress that comes along with it is something a lot of us would rather not have. This past Saturday, in particular, was definitely a hectic one for me and my family. We had to hurry from one place to another to do some Christmas shopping, and we also had to worry about picking up my brother from his school were they were having their annual Christmas fair. In the midst of all this, we had completely forgotten to even take a break to at least eat something, and at the end of the day, we were just completely exhausted, and hungry.

Before going home and calling it a day, we decided to have dinner at Classic Savory at the SM Supercenter in Pasig City, located beside Tiendesitas. Just like the restaurant we ate in the previous week, Classic Savory also has a long, interesting history behind it, beginning in the 1950s when the Ting brothers opened a  panciteria in Quiapo. Classic Savory is most certainly a success story, as they now have branches across many malls throughout the country, serving up their most famous dishes like their Savory Chicken.

Luckily, the restaurant wasn't so busy that evening, so we were immediately seated at a table. On the previous occasions that we've been here, the restaurant was almost always full.

It's good to know that this restaurant is still expanding after all these years.

After the waiter had taken our order, it wasn't long before our orders were placed on our table. The speed of service here is amazing, considering the amount of food we ordered and the serving sizes of each dish!

Their famous Savory Chicken (P345) is very tasty and juicy! We weren't able to finish everything here so we had to take some of it home.

The Chopsuey (P175) doesn't look as appetizing here but believe me, it was also really good.

Yang Chow Fried Rice (P175) for the third week in a row. It's starting to seem like we have an addiction, here. Unlike the restaurant we ate in last week, Classic Savory's serving size is very generous.

Savory Shanghai Rolls (P175), served with sweet and sour sauce. Just check out that HUGE serving! We never expected the serving size to be this huge considering the price. We all loved this dish--it tastes good even without the sauce! I highly recommend this one.

The Fish Fillet with Tofi Tausi Sauce (P195) is one of my favorites in this restaurant. The sauce really goes well with the fish. I really like the other ingredients like mushroom, pepper, and tofu, too.

Considering the number of dishes we ordered (plus two cups of plain rice for my brother and some drinks), the total bill amounted to just around P1,100. That's not bad at all! My parents were shocked (in a good way) when they saw the bill. What a sweet deal!

After a long day of Christmas shopping, nothing could make me happier than having good food to enjoy. Classic Savory surely did not disappoint. This meal did not just lmake our tummies happy---it made our wallets happy too! I can't wait to be back.
