By the second half of this year, expect three new additions to the extensive line-up of international luxury hotels and residences at Makati City.
The project, officially called "Fairmont Makati and Raffles Suites", consists of three sections: a 237-unit Raffles Residences, 280-room Fairmont Hotel, and a 32-suite Raffles Hotel, all designed to cater to the growing luxury hotel and condominium market in the Philippines' main business district.
The project was started in 2008 by a Saudi Arabia-based company, Kingdom Hotel Investments, in partnership with Ayala Land Corporation, one of the largest and most-recognized real estate development companies in the Philippines.
According to Randy Zupanski, managing director of Raffles Makati, the residential units will be ready for turnover by July of this year, while the hotels would open its doors to guests by September. Both hotels will be sharing amenities such as pools, fitness gyms, and a large 900-square meter ballroom which can accommodate over 600 people.
The Fairmont Hotels and Resorts chain has a worldwide presence, and is in charge of managing some of the most famous historical hotels in the world, such as the Plaza Hotel in Manhattan, New York and The Savoy in London. The Raffles Hotel, meanwhile, has made a name for itself as being one of the most famous hotels in the world. The original Raffles Hotel, located in Singapore, was opened in 1887 and has hosted famous people such as Mark Twain and Michael Jackson, among many others.
