Top Universities in the Philippines for 2011/2012

QS World University Rankings, a trusted university ranking group, has released a list of the top 400 universities in the world for 2011/2012, as well as the top 200 Asian universities. 

Four Philippine universities have made it to the top 200 Asian universities list, and they are the following: University of the Philippines (rank 62), Ateneo de Manila University (65), University of Santo Tomas (104) and De La Salle University (107). These and all other universities on the list were graded according to the following criteria:

40% Academic reputation
20% Citations per faculty
20% Faculty-student ratio
10% Employer reputation
5% Proportion of International Students
5% Proportion of International Faculty

Listed below are the top universitites in the Philippines based on results released by QS Quacquarelli Symonds (with overall ranking for the top two):

1. University of the Philippines (various locations)


Overall ranking: 332  Arts and Humanities: 123  Natural Sciences: 285  Engineering and IT: 326  Social Sciences: 167  Life Sciences: 219

2. Ateneo de Manila University (Quezon City)


Overall ranking: 360  Arts and Humanities: 183  Natural Sciences: 353  Engineering and IT: N/A  Social Sciences: 219  Life Sciences: 320

3. University of Santo Tomas (Manila)

5. University of Southeastern Philippines (Davao)
