It's that time of the year again. At 8:30pm on March 31, 2012, take part in Earth Hour--one of the world's largest and most popular environmental campaigns.
In 2011, more than 5,200 cities in 135 countries took part in this event, sending a powerful message about environmental awareness and the need to take a stand to help stop climate change. What began as a city event organized by WWF Australia Sydney in 2006 has become a global event, plunging famous landmarks in cities such as Hong Kong, London, New York and Paris into total darkness for one hour. This year, the WWF hopes to attract the attention of more people from even more cities across the globe. As in the past, this event aims to show how great things can be achieved when people come together and unite for a common cause.
