#Foodporn at Seven Corners Crowne Plaza Galleria Manila (Warning: Obscenely Delicious Food Photos Ahead)

My bid to eat healthier for the first few weeks of 2014 has failed yet again, for the second time this week. And now it's all my family's (particularly, my mom's) fault.

But who could say no to a grand buffet at Seven Corners at Crowne Plaza Galleria Manila, anyway? Not me, definitely--especially since I've never tried this place out before and I've been wanting to try it out for a while now.

My mom was able to score a pretty good deal via Deal Grocer, where there was a special promo that brought down  the price of dining here at just a little over P1000, down from over P1600 (as of this writing there are still some vouchers available, so I suggest you visit the website).

For those who are unfamiliar, Seven Corners has managed to gain a reputation over the last several years as one of the best and most extensive hotel buffets in Metro Manila, with several stations dedicated to a variety of dishes, from Indian, Japanese, American, and whatnot. This place has earned a "Recommended" badge from TripAdvisor, the travel website that rates, reviews, and recommends hotels and restaurants around the world.

After my mom bought the vouchers, we decided to eat here for lunch immediately the following Saturday. Although the vouchers were valid until March, why wait? When we were registering at the entrance, I noticed some of the people had Deal Grocer vouchers with them too. I guess they couldn't wait to use the vouchers too.

7 Corners was still largely empty when we arrived--we were about 20 minutes early for the 12:00 pm lunch buffet.

Apparently, they were having a sort of Korean Food Festival at the time, so the restaurant was decorated with Korean lanterns, and some of the staff were dressed in traditional Korean costumes. Of course I had to sample the Korean food--but more on that later on.

At 12 pm, a waitress approached the occupied tables and informed the guests that the buffet was already open. Let the battle begin!

Let me start by giving you a glimpse of some of the different buffet stations...

The Sushi-and-Sashimi station is a standard in almost all buffets.

They also have fresh seafood available, and you can also have them cooked according to your preferences.

These are ingredients for the traditional Korean dish Bibimpap (or Bibimbap)--white rice topped with vegetables and chili pepper paste. I've tried this dish before and it's really good! I wasn't able to try the one at Seven Corners though.

They have two different flavors of pizza, and one is the thin crust one while the other is of the thick crust variety.

This is just one side of the dessert station--there's a lot more!

More dessert--and there's a lot more too; I just didn't take a photo of everything.

The buffet spread was very overwhelming! Still though, while everyone else was going crazy hopping from one station to the other and getting as much of everything as possible, I decided to take a more relaxed approach....

I decided to  start off this meal with some salad...

...followed by some sushi and sashimi. The tuna and salmon were really fresh.

My mom got a plateful of steak, enough for the four of us. This is one of Seven Corners' signature dishes and this is something you can't miss out on! The steak looks delicious--and it is!

Heart-stopping lechon. Literally. I can feel my arteries constricting with every mouthful.

On this plate: japchae, bulgogi, cheese pizza, and steak. I gave some of the japchae to my mom since I didn't want to get full easily--there's still a lot more to try!

For the next round, I got a serving of mashed potatoes (highly recommended), dakyugi (a sort Korean marinated chicken dish), another slice of pizza (the thin one this time), and a little bit of this Indian dish with beans that tasted like curry (I don't know what it's called--I wish Seven Corners properly labelled some of their food). I barely touched it, though. I guess Indian food isn't really my thing.

I was already so full to eat anything else--but after resting up for a few minutes I decided to head for the dessert station. I mean, who could resist dessert? Again, I was overwhelmed by the choices since they all looked so good!

I decided to go for these cakes--the one at the left and the cheesecake at the center were awesome! I wanted to come back for more but my body just completely gave up already. I just couldn't take in any more food--I wasn't even able to come back to sample their teppanyaki ice cream which, apparently, is also a favorite among their patrons. The cake on the right, meanwhile, was meh, but the lovely piece of KitKat on top saved it from being blah.

Capping off this extremely satisfying meal with a nice cup of coffee.

Now on to the next great (food) adventure!
